Subtitling and captioning encoder/transcoder
Swift vTX is the leading solution for subtitles, captions and ancillary data processing in tapeless workflows, enabling 'early' or 'late' binding of captions or subtitles to content.
Swift vTx enables the automatic insertion and transcoding of subtitles, captions and other video ancillary data.
Proven at leading broadcasters and post-production houses, Swift vTX subtitling and anciallary data software provides faster-than-realtime processing, seamless integration with automation systems and ‘at a glance’ management, enhancing productivity while significantly reducing operational costs.
Swift vTX supports a wide range of file and video formats, including MXF. It also has direct interfaces with leading video servers, such as Grass Valley and Omneon, for complete flexibility.
Easy repurposing of assets is enabled, where content needs to be censored or edited to fit a time slot, with Swift vTX being able to extract captions or subtitles from an asset. The extracted captions or subtitles can then be edited, then seamlessly reinserts to the asset by Swift vTX.
Swift Create subtitling software also integrates with Swift vTX, triggering a processing job directly on the video server.
For the palyout of complex multi-language broadcast subtitles, Softel has developed MultiText. MultiText combines with Swift vTX to greatly simplify this process and contributes to a reduction in operational costs as well as an increase in productivity. For more information on complex multi-language subtitling and captioning, download our application note below.
For the preparation of 3D subtitles and captions, the Softel subtitling and captioning preparation and re-purposing software, Swift Create, has been enhanced to support 3D BDN file specifications as well as external 3D graphics insertion systems for both preview and transmission. To configure and monitor an entire subtitle transcoding and transmission operation, Softel has developed Dashboard. Dashboard provides a central unifying point from which to administer multi-channel, multi-language subtitling and captioning installations. For more information on Dashboard, click here.
Softel Swift Archive solution offers fast and efficient retrieval of subtitle files with an advanced searchable archive store. A fault tolerant architecture, using mirrored servers, protects against loss of data and safe guards investment in subtitle content creation and re-purposing.
