Opt Cuing
Opt cuing allows broadcasters and network operators to switch to alternate feeds based on automated or manual triggers. For example, switching to local advertising during commercial breaks or regional news broadcasts, then switching back to the main feed.
Typically, encrypted control data - inserted into the program video by a cue encoder - is transmitted alongside the video signal and is used by the downstream cue decoder to provide closing contact relay outputs.
The opt cuing equipment can be installed at a remote location, so it must be reliable; it must have the ability to provide multiple channel or multiple opt event support as well as flexibility in signaling methods.
Softel Oliver and vFlex offer SD/HD SDI cue encoding and decoding, along with various options for bridging and channel support. This proven technology builds on extensive experience gained with renowned products relied on across the globe.
