Ancillary data processing
Broadcasters and network operators require a number of different types of video data to be processed and 'injected' into the broadcast stream. These are normally refer to as video ancillary data.
This type of data insertion requires reliability and ease of management as equipment is often in a remote location. As networks increasingly move to digital broadcasting, the manipulation of MPEG SDI transport streams and the integration with modern networking technologies are key.
A multi-purpose solution that can reduce operation and maintenance costs, decrease overall system complexity as well as saving rack space makes perfect sense. Softel vFlex does just that.
Softel vFlex is a multi-purpose, rack mount ancillary data processor and inserter. VFlex can receive, process and insert video ancillary data, and is able to generate and insert clocks, bugs and other graphics into the transport stream. It also supports remote management for both updating of configuration, as well as for error monitoring and correction.
